1. About carpooliceland.com
carpooliceland.com is a cost-sharing ride platform that connects drivers and passengers for shared journeys across Iceland. We are NOT a transportation service. We do not employ drivers, set fares, or mediate payments between users.
2. Cost Sharing — Not a Taxi Service
carpooliceland.com facilitates cost-sharing only. Drivers share rides they are already making and split the cost of the journey (fuel, tolls, etc.) with passengers. Drivers must not profit from rides posted on this platform. Any financial arrangements between drivers and passengers are made directly and are outside our control.
3. User Responsibilities
By using this platform, you agree to: • Provide accurate and truthful information in your listings • Not use the platform for commercial transportation services • Treat other users with respect • Comply with all applicable Icelandic laws • Maintain valid insurance and a valid driving licence (for drivers) • Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and compliant with Icelandic regulations (for drivers)
4. Listings
A one-time fee of 450 ISK is required to publish a listing. Listings automatically expire after the stated travel date. We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates these terms. Listing fees are non-refundable.
5. Payments
The 450 ISK listing fee is processed by our payment partner, Rapyd. We do not store your full payment card details. Any cost-sharing payments between drivers and passengers are made directly between the parties and are not processed by carpooliceland.com.
7. Liability
carpooliceland.com is not responsible for: • The conduct, safety, or reliability of any driver or passenger • Any accidents, injuries, or damages during shared rides • The accuracy of information posted by users • Any disputes between users regarding cost-sharing Use of this platform is at your own risk.
8. Modifications
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes shall be resolved in Icelandic courts.
